Truffle partially out of ground
Truffle partially out of ground

The Burgundy Truffles are harvested from October through December and the Perigord Truffles from December through February. Trained dogs are used to locate the truffles because they are underground. This minimizes damage to the plants. The cost of dogs and their care is tax deductible as a business expense.

Restaurants and food/mushroom brokers are constantly looking for suppliers of this scarce gourmet commodity. It is not difficult for the individual grower to sell them himself. However, for growers not interested in doing their own marketing, Garland Truffles will either buy or help you sell your truffles both domestically and abroad. We will pay a minimum of $500 a pound. There also already exists a marketing cooperative that will purchase your truffles.
